Review by Heather Moffat: International trainer and best selling author:
'Led By The Grey'
I was expecting a rather dry, military topic, but I couldn't have been more mistaken!
OK, so the prose is hardly Proust, but the story is highly readable, moving and to be honest, I had a hard time restricting it to bedtime reading!! Story aside, there are a lot of interesting facts about the regiments and the horses too.
I can really recommend this book as a lovely light read, which you will not want to put down!!

Well, I've read it. Whole thing. Cover to cover.
Brilliant. Simply Brilliant.
It's the sort of novel that makes you want to meet all the characters in person, isn't it? You know, most equine-themed novels are tacky, boring, cheesy, and too full of fantasy for my taste. This was just the opposite...it caught my attention from the first word, and kept my attention through to the last. It was meaningful, thoughtful, creative, intelligent, informative, and FUN.
It is hard to put down once you start reading. I stayed up much too late several nights reading on. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. Never having been to the U.K., I especially liked how descriptive the book is. I almost feel like I've been there. This is a book that all age groups will enjoy. Can't wait for the sequel.

I couldn't put it down. All week I have been reading it at every opportunity and have just finished it now - with a few tears, I must say.
I hope there is going to be a sequel.........
best wishes

Sometimes silly, (in a good way), very interesting concepts, great plot, poignant ending. Thoroughly enjoyable.
I have just finished reading this book, a mean feat in itself, as I usually struggle reading books as they take me months to complete, but this was very hard to put down and addictive. I didn't realise it was such a big book, then once you begin to read it, its very hard to put down.
The book is very well written and as the story goes along it explains itself as you go through it. Even for the non - military reader I think this book would be fascinating for them, its strange because although its a fantasy novel you can almost believe it!
This is a very very well written and interesting novel and I feel it would appeal to all walks of life, but what really makes this book appealing is it was written by a Household Cavalryman. And of course all the proceeds from the sale of the hardback edition will go to the Household Cavalry Operational Casualties Fund.
I think you may well have a best seller on your hands. Very well done and I look forward to reading your next book.
Steve.
Anyway, the reason I am writing. I'd like to get hold of another copy so that I can send one to my daughter in Australia. If you could let me have another one signed I would be very grateful. The book is brilliant by the way. I’m telling all my friends they should go out and purchase one. I’m sure it will do well.
Just finished the book. he he had a great laugh.... and a brilliant read. Well done that man. When’s the next adventure going to come out...?
Hi, I just finished Chapter 8 and am hooked! I was unsure after chapter 1 - novels involving mysterious flying horses not really being my thing - but once the characters of the mother and son were established in my mind I wanted to find out what happens to them.
You're a good writer! The story seems to me to lend itself to a movie format........who knows, hopefully one day we might see it on the big screen.

Update...
OK - I finished it! Loved the way the plot quickened and tension grew. Clever use of clues to whet the appetite and imagination.
A movie-like quality noted throughout..........it would look great on the big screen. Very many congratulations to the author on a job well done. I am recommending it to my friends.
